Not as bleak as I remember it being. The girl appears to be enjoying herself. But there is still something of "the damned" about them. I think it's in the lighting - in the way that it is lit.
This is the picture of yours that I remember the most - the one that springs to mind most easily. There is a kind of sado-masochistic thing going on in there. Something about taking pleasure in pain. There is something of De Sade in there as well as of......Bukowski (with whose work I am not familiar). There is something of the vampire and of the monster in the man. Something of the clapped-out rake, too. And of the jaded libertine. The man rendered finally insensible by the pursuit and experience of too much extreme.....sensation. A fate to be avoided, I should have thought. But something of us all goes there, I dare say. He has made himself a monster.
I should have faved this picture a long time ago. But I shall do so now.
And I shall come back to look at more of your work, besides.
